Help from Iceland

I recently became a trainee for the icelandic rescue team or ICE-SAR. You can see what I mean on [www.youtube.com] if you look for ICE SAR.
Anyway We have to learn how to use an ice axe. I was born with a disability on my hands. I have no ulna bone and only 1/3 of radius and just two fingers on each hand. I do pretty well without any prosthetics. But now it seems I need it. I can’t use the ice axe cause I can’t hold it well enough. Do you have any ideas?
