We all love a perfectly smooth climbing day, but what happens when it doesn’t all go to plan? Are you prepared to get yourself or your partner out of a jam?

Join us for a skills-based clinic where we’ll go through the basics of rock rescue in the single pitch environment. From belay takeovers and partner pickoffs, to counterweighted lowers and haul systems, these skills are sure to improve your value as a climbing partner!

This will be a 6 hour ‘full day’ clinic at Tunnel 1 in Clear Creek Canyon. We’ll meet at 8am at the Tunnel 1 parking lot and make the short & easy (.25mi flat pavement) approach to the crag. From here, we’ll chat through some of the circumstances and steps involved for various rescue techniques, before we rope up and get on (and back off again!) the wall.

All are welcome, but participants should be familiar with outdoor climbing and have basic top rope belay skills in order to maximize their learning. This will be a skill-intensive day with very limited climbing time, so if you’re looking for lots of laps, we suggest you keep an eye out for more outdoor climbing opportunities with us this summer and fall!
